About Noura

Noura began at home, in a family that has been weaving for four generations.

In our house, the looms were always inside. And so were the women who ran them. We grew up watching our mothers, aunts and grandmothers spend their days at the handloom — warping, threading, weaving cloth of real beauty — and that was where their part ended. The cloth left the house. They never did. It was sold under other people’s names, worn by people who would never know whose hands had made it, and the women went back to the loom. For three generations, that was simply how it was: the men dealt with the world, and the women’s work stayed within four walls.

We are the fourth generation — and the first in our family to graduate. We are also the first of its women to step out and build something of our own. Noura is that step.

It exists so that the skill that lived quietly inside our home finally meets the world on its own terms — with its own name on the label. Not cloth handed over at the doorstep, but a brand carried out of it: designed by us, run by us, made the way our family taught us cloth should be made, and offered to you directly, with nobody else’s name in between.

What we make

Cotton farshi sets and kurtas for the days in between. Printed cotton, cut relaxed, finished properly — pieces you reach for on a Tuesday, not just at a wedding. We hold ourselves to the standard we grew up around: if it would not have passed in our house, it does not leave this one.

We keep the collection small and make each piece in small numbers. When a size runs out, it is gone until the next batch — that is the trade-off for making things carefully, and we think it is worth it.

What we promise

Honest fabric, honest pricing, and a straight answer if something goes wrong. If the fit is not right, write to us and we will sort it out.

Made in India, by the fourth generation of a weaving family — and the first of its women to run a business of their own.
